Laboratory specialists performed 3,704 studies of imported food products. In 13 cases, violations were detected, of which in six cases - in chicken products.
In addition, violations were detected in batches of pork, beef, lamb and rice cereals. Products were supplied from Uruguay, Colombia, CHINA and other countries.
In four cases, as a result of studies carried out, chicken quarters and halves of frozen chicken were found to be hazardous to humans.Listeria bacteria . Listeria is considered particularly dangerous because it can survive at low temperatures in frozen products. Once bacteria enter the human body , they can cause the severe infectious disease listeriosis.
In addition, during the research carried out by specialists from the Primorsky Interregional Veterinary Laboratory, salmonella bacteria were confirmed in chicken breasts in two cases .
Salmonella is well preserved in MEAT and is able to actively multiply in it. These bacteria persist even in frozen products. Only thorough heat treatment has a detrimental effect on salmonella.
Residues of a drug (antibiotic) and chalk kernels (in rice) were also found in the studied products of the Primorskaya MVL.
