“We have a fairly large program for egg production . This year the figure will be 3.4 billion eggs - 97.5% of last year’s level. This is a planned decrease, since in 2023 we resolved two main issues in poultry farming - the creation of reproductive units I and II orders,” said Oleg Malashchenko.

According to the chairman of the committee, these tasks have been successfully solved, and “today the Leningrad region fully provides itself with eggs for egg production, is ready to supply other regions of the Russian Federation, and does not depend on the supply of breeding material from Europe.” In addition, Oleg Malashchenko noted, poultry enterprises in the Leningrad region are today actively engaged in modernization.

“Today JSC Roskar Poultry Farm is building 11 buildings for 200 thousand birds each. This will give us an increase in egg production by 680 million units in the next 2 years. This year we commissioned three buildings, in 2024 we will introduce five buildings. We will complete the modernization in 2025 year," said the HEAD of the committee.

“JSC Sinyavinskaya Poultry Farms is building a building for a population of 580 thousand birds - this is an additional 200 million eggs,” Malashchenko added.

According to the forecasts of the head of the committee, by 2027 the Leningrad region will reach the target of 4.5 billion eggs per year.

According to the press service of the governor and government of the Leningrad region, the region has been ranked first in RUSSIA in egg production for more than 10 years. At the end of 2022, 3.5 billion pieces were produced, which is 9% of the egg production market throughout Russia and 75% of eggs produced in the regions of the North-West of the Russian Federation.
