Saudi Arabia introduces mandatory certification for poultry and egg suppliers: what awaits Russian exporters

Certification applies to all farms that supply live poultry or eggs to certified facilities operating in the Kingdom. Saudi Arabia is implementing a digital certification system that will include inspection of all raw material areas of certified facilities supplying poultry and eggs. Currently, approximately 90% of local companies are already registered in this system, and it will soon become mandatory for foreign suppliers.

Certification will be a paid annual process, with an estimated cost of 30,000 Saudi riyals per farm, and the certificate will be valid for one year. All farms will be assessed. Representatives of auditing companies approved by Saudi Arabia will soon be available in Russia, facilitating the process for exporters. Application review will take approximately 30 business days.

With the additional Saudi GAP certificate, which will be required for all export documents, farmers will be able to confirm their compliance with the Kingdom's requirements. The system is scheduled to be implemented by March 17, 2026, although a transition period for certification is currently in effect. Instructions for using the Naama platform and contact information for consultations and troubleshooting are already available on the Rosselkhoznadzor website.
