A key aspect of the innovation is the introduction of digital certification, which will simplify the certification and monitoring process. Currently, approximately 90% of local businesses are already registered in this system, and it will soon become mandatory for foreign suppliers.
Certification will be a fee-based process and will be conducted annually. The cost is expected to be approximately 30,000 Saudi riyals per farm, which could be a burden for small farms. However, the availability of Saudi Arabia-approved auditing companies in RUSSIA could facilitate the process and reduce costs.
The certificate will be valid for one year, and all farm assets will be assessed. Applications will be reviewed within 30 working days (Saudi calendar), which is also important to factor into supply plans.
Thus, the new certification for EXPORT to Saudi Arabia requires Russian farmers to adapt to updated conditions, but also opens up opportunities for increased competition in the international market. Exporters should closely monitor the changes and prepare for the new requirements.
