The Ministry of Agriculture predicted a decrease in the cost of poultry meat in the near future

it is reported that First Deputy Minister of Agriculture Oksana Lut held a meeting to stabilize prices on the poultry market. During the meeting, representatives of the Federal Antimonopoly Service noted a significant increase in prices for poultry MEAT since May of this year. In addition, a dominant group of three largest manufacturing companies was identified. “In this regard, the situation with pricing for these products has been taken under special control by the Federal Antimonopoly Service of RUSSIA, and if violations of antimonopoly legislation are detected, response measures will be taken immediately,” the ministry said in a statement.

“Market participants said that the cost of poultry meat is expected to decrease in the near future. This will also be facilitated by the expansion of production capacity, as well as a reduction in seasonal demand,” the statement said. The Ministry of Agriculture also states that egg producers confirmed the preservation of production volumes to meet domestic demand and social orientation in the pricing policy for their products.

The ministry's statement adds that the poultry industry will continue to show positive dynamics in 2023. Thus, in January - August, the production of poultry for slaughter (in live weight) in agricultural organizations increased by 0.7% compared to the same period last year, to 4.3 million tons, eggs - by 3.1%, to 25.5 billion things.
