Brazil reports that chicken slaughter hit a record in Q1 2021. The Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGS) has published a report "Livestock statistics: full results", which collects data for the first quarter of 2021 on the slaughter and EXPORT of chickens, pigs and cattle, as well as on the purchase of MILK.

The document shows that the slaughter of chickens confirmed the trend already indicated in the review of the first results published in May and broke another record in the first quarter of 2021, when 1.57 billion chickens were sent for slaughter. This is 3.3% more than the same period in 2020 and 0.7% more than the fourth quarter of 2020.

"As chicken MEAT exports remained at reasonable levels this quarter, we can assume that a significant portion of this increase was for domestic consumption," the report said. An increase in chick slaughter was noted in 19 of the 25 regions that participated in the survey.

And this fact will be taken into account when preparing the monthly analytical report Meatinfo.ru
