
The cost of Choice MEAT in the US market rose by $3.23 in a week, the price of Select beef added $3.49. Choice/Select leverage increased to $15.35.
US livestock futures edged higher on May 10 as livestock processing picked up on high beef prices.
REUTERS reports that fattening contracts have risen due to shortages in stocks and declining trade in corn.
Daily cattle slaughter increased to 119,000 on Monday, up 5,000 from a week earlier. Beef processors have achieved high margins thanks to strong consumer demand.
