Poultry meat production in the Rostov region in 2022 increased by 1.7 times, eggs - by 21%

Poultry MEAT production in the Rostov region in 2022 increased by 1.7 times compared to 2021 - up to 159.8 thousand tons, Viktor Goncharov, the first deputy governor of the region, told Interfax.

"Including agricultural organizations doubled the production of poultry meat last year - up to 133.6 thousand tons, peasant farms - by 16.4%, up to 1.2 thousand tons. The population produced 24.9 thousand tons" - said Goncharov.

According to him, egg production last year in the Rostov region increased by 20.9% compared to 2021, to 1.661 billion pieces.

There are 13 poultry enterprises in the region that produce poultry meat and eggs. The number of poultry as of January 1, 2023 is 17.016 million heads, which is 18.3% more than a year earlier",

5 poultry farms are engaged in the production of poultry meat in the region, 7 poultry enterprises are engaged in the production of chicken eggs.
