According to a report from the Rosario Exchange, each Argentinean is expected to consume approximately 44.8 kg of beef in 2024 , the lowest level since 1914. This is a consequence of the serious economic difficulties facing the country. Libertarian President Javier Miley is implementing tough austerity measures to stabilize the situation, including lifting the freeze on beef prices imposed by the previous government.

The decline in beef consumption is stimulating Argentines to turn to more affordable alternatives such as chicken and pork . According to forecasts, the price of 1 kg of beef in 2024 will be equivalent to the price of 2 kg of alternative MEAT. This change in consumer behavior is due not only to economic factors, but also to changes in the preferences and tastes of the population.

Despite the decrease in meat consumption in general, farmers are facing the challenge of adapting to new market conditions. With domestic demand declining, they are forced to look for new strategies and solutions to maintain the sustainability of their farms. Changes in beef consumption in Argentina reflect not only economic shifts, but also changing consumer preferences and priorities. This creates a need for adaptation for both consumers and meat producers, opening up new opportunities and challenges for the country's food industry.
