The ASF virus was detected in the raw materials at the warehouse of the manufacturer “Vyazanka”

As a result of the control measures carried out, it was established that there may be risks of identifying the genome of the ASF virus in the pork raw materials of one of the suppliers , the Abi press service reported. In this regard, it was decided to establish a quarantine and isolate two refrigerated trucks with these raw materials in an external buffer warehouse. The volume of the blocked batch is a small percentage of the total volume, so it will not affect the production of the company’s products, Abi emphasized. All company enterprises continue to operate as planned. The company's MEAT processing plants are located in another territory at a distance of more than 10 km.

Additionally, pork raw materials and finished products were checked for the presence of the ASF virus. The research results of veterinary laboratories showed a negative result, the company emphasized. Abi actively cooperates with representatives of the regional ROSSELKHOZNADZOR and takes all necessary measures to ensure product safety.

According to Rosselkhoznadzor, as of September 11, 35 active outbreaks of ASF were registered in RUSSIA. Of these, 24 were among domestic pigs, 11 among wild boars. At the beginning of June, the acting HEAD of the Inspectorate for State Supervision in the Field of Animal Handling and Veterinary Medicine of the Vladimir Region, Alexander Grigoriev, announced that mass registration of ASF outbreaks in private farms in the region began on July 11. The main version of the occurrence of outbreaks is associated with feeding pigs with feed made from non-neutralized food waste. According to current legislation, food waste must be disinfected at a temperature of at least 70 degrees Celsius.

Also on September 11, an outbreak of ASF was registered in the Kalininsky district of the Krasnodar Territory on the territory of the Delimit pig-breeding complex of Kuban Bacon JSC (a structure of the Agrocomplex named after N. I. Tkachev). Due to the detection of the virus in pig products, quarantine was introduced, the regional veterinary department reported. The company was quarantined. In addition, outbreaks of the disease were previously detected and localized in the Kushchevsky, Bryukhovetsky and Krylovsky districts of the Krasnodar Territory. Sick animals were identified at the Impulse pig farms, brigade 5 of the Agrocomplex named after. N.I. Tkacheva and Steppe LLC, Novosergievskoye CJSC. The region expanded the list of ASF observation areas from four to 11 as part of eliminating epizootic foci and preventing further spread of the disease, the press service of the Veterinary Department of the Krasnodar Territory reported.

In early September, it was reported that  the Ministry of Agriculture  wants to strengthen control over the spread of ASF at industrial pig-breeding enterprises with the highest level of epizootic protection. The basis for developing the changes were appeals from all-Russian public organizations. The changes involve increasing the minimum number and frequency of sampling for ASF testing in domestic pigs; creation of buffer zones around pig farms within which enhanced control over the circulation of the ASF pathogen and other measures should be carried out.
