The highest growth rates - almost 15% - were achieved in the Southern Federal District, where 481.7 thousand tons were produced. In the Siberian and Far Eastern Federal Districts, growth in poultry farming exceeded 8%. The leaders in terms of production were the Central (2.6 million tons, an increase of 3.5%) and the Volga district (1.5 million tons, an increase of 6%).

According to the presentation, in December 2022, 600.1 thousand tons of poultry were produced, which is 2.6% more compared to December 2021.

As Sergey Lakhtyukhov, General DIRECTOR of the Union, stated at the conference, farms of all categories last year overcame the milestone of 7 million tons. "That is, we have increased the production of poultry MEAT by almost seven and a half times in 25 years. The figure is colossal," he stressed.

According to him, the consumption of poultry meat has reached 79 kg per person per year. "There was no such indicator even in the times of the USSR, this is a certain kind of record," he said.

At the same time, Lakhtyukhov noted that, despite this, additional volumes of poultry meat, as well as pork, "create additional pressure on the price, respectively, have an impact on the economy of enterprises." In this regard, it is necessary to stimulate the growth of demand for these products.
