In 2022, pork remained the leading EXPORT MEAT product of the European Union, despite a decline in exports from 2021 levels. Last year, the EU exported €13.8 billion worth of pork, down 5% from 2021 levels and 9% down from 2020.

Last year, a significant decrease in the volume of pork exports to CHINA (-982 thousand tons) was recorded, which led to a decrease in the value of 1.9 billion euros. However, European pork is China's largest export by value (3.3 billion euros).
Pork imports to the EU increased slightly to reach 373 million euros, representing an increase in value of 80 million euros compared to 2021 and an increase in volume of 28 thousand tons.
