Skrytchenko emphasized that work on this technology is ongoing and has great potential. The advantage of their approach is that embryos are implanted, which allows to avoid disruption of the farm's veterinary background. Unlike buying animals from other farms, where it is possible to acquire diseases associated with them, the use of embryo transplantation allows to introduce new genetic lines without disrupting the HEALTH of the existing herd.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Rostov Region, there are about 50 breeding organizations in the region, among which only Kolos provides services in the field of embryonic transplantology. The cost of one embryo in the cooperative is from 15 to 20 thousand rubles, and for each heifer it is necessary to purchase two embryos, since the transplantation efficiency reaches 48-50%.
Kolos has been engaged in dairy farming and breeding Holstein cows for over 20 years. The selection of genetic material is carried out from among the best cows, which allows to significantly accelerate the formation of a promising herd. At present, the average annual MILK yield per cow in the Rostov region is about 7.9 thousand kg, while in Kolos it is slightly higher and reaches 12.87 thousand kg.
