In the Tambov region, about 50% of the work on the survey of forest belts has been completed

According to the Department of Agriculture of the Tambov region, active work is being carried out in the region to account for reclamation protective forest plantations - forest belts. Currently, about 50% of the necessary work has been completed. Surveys of forest belts in the Tambov region are planned to be fully completed by the end of 2022.
Accounting is carried out on the basis of survey materials provided by local governments and land owners. Such work on the territory of agricultural land began in 2021.
In the process of survey and accounting, the age, species and quantitative composition of trees and shrubs in the forest belt is determined, as well as their condition. The data obtained is sent to the Russian Ministry of Agriculture for inclusion in the country's unified database. Also, data on reclamation protective forest plantations in the Tambov region are also entered into the regional database.
Agricultural experts note that forest belts in the fields protect the land from destruction and contribute to increasing their fertility, obtaining higher yields of field crops, as well as increasing the productivity of the livestock sector. Forest belts reduce the wind speed in the fields, which helps to reduce the evaporation of moisture from its surface, protect crops from droughts and dry winds, dust storms, and much more.
Recall that in September 2020, the orders of the Ministry of Agriculture of RUSSIA came into force, regulating measures for the inspection of reclamation protective forest plantations, in accordance with which the obligation to inspect forest belts located on land plots owned by municipalities, as well as on land plots, state property which is not delimited, is assigned to local governments.
