Rospotrebnadzor explained Popova's words about the non-infectiousness of those vaccinated against COVID

Citizens who have been vaccinated against CORONAVIRUS are not contagious, but there are rare cases of illness after vaccination, Deputy DIRECTOR for Research of the Central Research Institute of Epidemiology of Rospotrebnadzor, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences Alexander Gorelov told RBC.

“The accumulated scientific evidence suggests that those vaccinated are not a source of infection for others and do not pose a threat. But really, sometimes, despite the vaccination, a person can get sick,” Gorelov said.

According to him, there are not many such cases - about 0.7%.

Moreover, if a vaccinated person falls ill, he will still be contagious, and he will have to observe self-isolation, Gorelov notes.
