“Today, more than 50% of the vaccines we use are domestically produced. We actively interact with the Federal Center for Animal Health Protection (FSBI “ARRIAH” of Rosselkhoznadzor ) and some other domestic producers, we consider our work with them quite successful,” the publication quotes Anastasia Mikhailova as saying.

She noted that vaccines for parent stock are primarily important for the company, “but in general we need all vaccines, since vaccination is the basis for disease prevention.”

According to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, by 2030 Russia can reach an almost complete supply of veterinary drugs. For this purpose, the ministry is developing a new subprogram of the federal scientific and technical program (FSTP).

At the end of May, the head of Rosselkhoznadzor, Sergei Dankvert, announced a significant increase in the production of domestic vaccines for animals. Thus, in 2023, Russian enterprises produced 19.3 billion doses of veterinary vaccines, 3 billion more than in 2022.

In turn, the subordinate service of the Federal State Budgetary Institution “ARRIAH” developed 13 new vaccines for farm animals and pets in 2023; By the end of 2024 , vaccine production is expected to increase 5 times compared to 2021.

The Cherkizovo Group is one of the largest producers of meat and meat products in Russia. At the end of 2023, the company increased sales of chicken meat by 18.1%, to 858.99 thousand tons, sales of turkey meat decreased by 35.2%, to 48.64 thousand tons. Pork production increased by 18.2%, to 282.23 thousand tons in live weight.
