In Minsk, a drunk man struck a teenager and threatened a passerby with a knife.

The Partizansky District Department of the Investigative Committee of Minsk is investigating the circumstances of this particularly malicious act of hooliganism.  

The investigation has established that on the afternoon of October 6 of this year, the 63-year-old Minsk resident was in a state of intoxication.A drunken man broke out on a bus carrying students from a Moscow college. The teenagers' loud conversation angered him and he hit a 15-year-old girl over the head with his phone. 

They soon left the bus together at a stop. A young man, who witnessed the suspect strike his girlfriend, asked passersby for help. Noticing this, the Moscow resident pulled a knife from his backpack and walked toward them. He held the weapon to the 18-year-old's throat, but his friend rushed to his friend's defense. Together, they managed to subdue the attacker and hold him until police arrived.  

During questioning, the suspect was unable to provide a coherent explanation for his actions, citing only alcohol intoxication.  

A criminal case has been opened for particularly malicious hooliganism. The man is currently in custody.
