
US investment bank JP Morgan published a forecast report on December 8, according to which 2022 will mark the end of the coronavirus pandemic and the full recovery of the global economy.
The bank's forecast report for next year says that new vaccines and therapeutics will lead to a "strong cyclical recovery, the return of global mobility and a resumption of pent-up consumer demand."
Marko Kolanovic, the bank's chief global strategist and co-head of global research, said the bank expects the U.S. S&P 500 (.SPX) index to rise nearly 8% to 5,050 points, emerging market equities up 18%, with yields key growth driver the cost of borrowing in the world – will rise to 2.25% by the end of 2022.
“We believe that 2022 will be the year of a full recovery of the global economy, the end of the pandemic and a return to the normal economic and market conditions that we had before the COVID-19 outbreak,” Kolanovic said.
