Daily incidence of COVID-19 in Bashkiria approaches 2,000 people

In Bashkiria, for the ninth day in a row, records of the daily incidence of coronavirus have been recorded. Over the past day, COVID-19 was confirmed in 1994 people in the republic, the total number of infected reached 141,274, according to the operational headquarters for combating coronavirus in the region.

During the day, 257 people were discharged with recovery. In total, 124,183 patients have managed to cope with the disease since the beginning of the pandemic. The number of deaths reached 4832, five residents of the republic died from the effects of the virus in a day.

On weekends, the rate of mass vaccination of the population traditionally decreases in the region, during the day 2.6 thousand people were vaccinated with the first component, 2.2 thousand with the second. 2.2 million people in the republic completed the vaccination, 2.39 million were vaccinated with the first component residents.

The fifth wave of coronavirus incidence in the republic is associated with the spread of "omicron". In the first week of February, cases of infection with a subspecies of this strain BA.2 were also detected in Bashkiria. The peak of the distribution of "omicron" in the republic is predicted in mid-February. Open data analyst Alexander Dragan, based on global COVID statistics, also admitted that the fifth wave of coronavirus in Russia and Bashkiria could become double if it develops into a wave of subspecies BA.2.

As RBC Ufa reported, in the last week of January, the incidence of coronavirus in Russia doubled, almost half of the new cases were in Moscow, the Moscow Region and St. Petersburg. The excess of the average Russian indicators was recorded in 19 regions of the country, only in two subjects the incidence decreased - the Jewish Autonomous and Amur regions. According to Rospotrebnadzor of the Russian Federation, the number of infected people has increased in all age groups, the highest rates were recorded among adolescents aged 15 to 17 years, and the lowest among the elderly.
