Meatballs, they are also Meatball (MEAT balls) - this is a fairly common dish of minced meat with various additives, cooked with sauce. Do not confuse meatballs with meatballs, which differ in composition, size and cooking technology - they are boiled in broth, with which they are served. But meatballs are usually served with a side dish. it should be noted that some confusion in the terminology is introduced by classic Swedish meatballs, which, in fact, are meatballs. But all these questions are secondary compared to the bright taste sensations that you will get from the dishes prepared according to our recipes!

Meatballs in marinara tomato sauce

Ingredients

For meatballs:

300 g ground beef;

1 medium onion;

1 clove of garlic;

1 chicken egg;

10 fresh basil leaves;

SALT and pepper - to taste.

For the marinara sauce:

1 medium onion;

1 clove of garlic;

4 large champignons;

4 large tomatoes (or 500 ml tomatoes in their own juice);

1 tablespoon of tomato paste;

1 carrot;

1 teaspoon rosemary;

1 teaspoon thyme;

2 teaspoons of SUGAR;

3 tablespoons of vegetable oil for frying;

salt and pepper - to taste.

Cooking technique

Cut the onion into small cubes, the basil leaves into thin ribbons.

Sauté the onion in vegetable oil until translucent, about 3-4 minutes. Then add minced garlic, cook for 1 more minute.

Combine ground beef, egg, onion, garlic, basil, salt and pepper in a large bowl. Stir until smooth.

Form meatballs weighing 50-60 g from minced meat (focus on the size of a ping-pong ball).

Prepare the sauce: dice onions, mushrooms, carrots and tomatoes, add chopped garlic.

Pass the chopped vegetables in vegetable oil for about 4-5 minutes.

Add tomato paste, season with sugar, salt and pepper, cook over low heat for 1 minute more.

Add the meatballs and chopped herbs (thyme and rosemary) to the tomato sauce. Simmer with the lid closed until fully cooked, about 10 minutes.

We recommend serving this dish with rice or pasta.

Swedish meatballs in creamy sauce

Ingredients

For meatballs:

600 g ground beef;

1 chicken egg;

1 onion;

1 sweet bun;

100 ml of MILK;

1 tablespoon vegetable oil for frying;

1 tablespoon of butter;

salt and pepper - to taste.

For sauce:

1 tablespoon of butter;

1 tablespoon FLOUR;

300 ml of broth;

60 ml of heavy cream;

1/2 teaspoon allspice;

2 tablespoons of soy sauce;

salt and pepper - to taste.

Cooking technique

Break the bun into small pieces and pour over the milk. Leave to swell for 5 minutes.

Cut the onion into small cubes and fry in vegetable oil until translucent.

Combine the fried onion, minced meat, egg, squeezed bun, salt and pepper in a bowl. Stir.

Form balls from minced meat.

Melt the butter in a large skillet and brown the meatballs on all sides over medium heat for about 5 minutes.

Prepare the sauce: fry the flour in butter. Add broth, then cream.

Simmer the sauce for 5 minutes until thickened.

Season with soy sauce and pepper.

Place the meatballs in the pan with the sauce; cook for 1 more minute.

We recommend serving this dish with mashed potatoes or pasta.

Meatballs based on couscous in sour cream sauce

Ingredients

For meatballs:

400 g ground beef;

150 g couscous;

2 cloves of garlic;

1 medium onion;

1 chicken egg;

salt and pepper - to taste;

3 tablespoons vegetable oil for frying.

For sauce:

200 g sour cream 15% fat;

1 tablespoon flour;

400 ml of water;

salt and pepper - to taste.

Cooking technique

Combine minced meat, raw couscous, minced garlic, finely chopped onion, egg in a large bowl, season with salt and pepper. Stir until smooth.

Wet your hands. From the minced meat, form small balls.

Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan and put meatballs in it.

Fry them on all sides for about three minutes. Drain any remaining oil from the pan.

Prepare the sauce: mix flour with sour cream, season with salt and pepper.

Add warm boiled water and stir until no lumps remain.

Pour the meatballs with sour cream sauce.

Bring the dish to a boil and simmer covered over low heat for 20 minutes.

We recommend serving this dish with vegetables.
