ROSSELKHOZNADZOR introduced a temporary ban on the import of poultry MEAT from the state of Wisconsin after an outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza in its territory. The restrictions come into effect on March 22.
Establishments in this state are prohibited from importing live poultry and hatching eggs, poultry meat, prepared meat products, poultry feeds and feed additives (excluding plant-based feeds and feed additives and those that have been processed). In addition, the import of used equipment for keeping, slaughtering and cutting birds is prohibited.
it is also prohibited to import into the Russian Federation live birds that were in transit through this state.
Today, the import of poultry products in connection with the outbreak of bird flu has already been banned from nine US states. These are South Carolina, Delaware, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, South Dakota, Iowa, Missouri and Wisconsin.
Earlier, the agency limited the supply of poultry products from the regions of Italy after outbreaks in this country of a dangerous disease.
