Earlier, RTVI, citing the Executive DIRECTOR of the Association of Veterinary Pharmaceutical Companies (AVPHARM), Semyon Zhavoronkov, said that from September 1, out of 1,000 foreign veterinary drugs currently circulating on the Russian market, about 60 items will remain due to GMP certification, without which foreign manufacturers will not be able to supply veterinary drugs to RUSSIA.

"The information presented in the media on behalf of a representative of the AVPHARM association is not true. First of all, the data on foreign drugs circulating on the Russian market and the number of foreign enterprises that have passed the GMP inspection of ROSSELKHOZNADZOR are not true," the report says .

As noted in the department, 1 thousand names of foreign drugs are not imported into Russia. Of the 890 registered companies, no more than 600 are actually circulating on the market. At the same time, 36 sites of foreign companies have already successfully passed inspection for compliance with GMP requirements.

In total, they produce about 300 types of drugs that are supplied to Russia. "The relevant regulation is aimed solely at unifying the requirements for Russian and foreign manufacturers of veterinary drugs. Currently, all Russian companies are required to obtain conclusions on compliance with GMP requirements, while foreign companies - only for those drugs that were registered after the introduction of the GMP standard in Russia," the press service explained. They also noted that the Russian market has a wide range of domestically produced drugs for both agriculture and non-productive animals.
