According to First Deputy Minister of Agriculture Elena Fastova, the process of preferential lending is carried out at the proper level. In 2024 , the Ministry of Agriculture selected 40 banks to participate in this program, including such major players as Rosselkhozbank, Sberbank, VTB and Alfa-Bank. These banks have already begun offering farmers short-term and investment loans, which opens up new opportunities for farmers.
In 2024, 21 billion rubles have been allocated to support new preferential lending, of which 17.5 billion are intended for short-term loans. Thanks to this, farmers will have access to the necessary funds to solve urgent problems, such as purchasing seeds and fertilizers. An important point: in 2025, the volume of subsidies will double and amount to 42 billion rubles, which will emphasize the state's desire to support the agricultural sector.
Preferential lending is carried out at a "floating" rate, which gives farmers the opportunity to receive loans on more favorable terms, especially in conditions of economic instability. At the moment, the agro-industrial complex has already attracted 1.1 trillion rubles of preferential loans, which confirms the high demand for such financial instruments.
In the context of global economic changes and internal challenges, support from the state and financial institutions is becoming critically important for the sustainable development of the agricultural sector. Preferential lending helps not only cope with current tasks, but also creates conditions for long-term investments in the modernization of production. The active participation of large banks in this program opens up new horizons for Russian farmers, helping to increase their competitiveness both in the domestic and international markets.
