In recent years, agritourism has become a popular destination for those looking to spend time in nature, learn about agriculture, and enjoy local cuisine.
Unlike traditional tourism, agritours offer a more in-depth immersion into local life. Tourists have the opportunity to directly participate in agricultural processes, visit farms, participate in master classes, and learn more about local culture and traditions.
Agricultural producers (excluding private farms) operating in rural areas are eligible to apply for the "Agritourism" grant. Farmers can receive between 3 and 10 million rubles to implement projects in this area. Entrepreneurs who contribute at least 25% of their own funds will be eligible for the maximum grant.
For several years, the region has been supporting rural tourism projects.
In 2023, the "Ladoga Cruises to Rainbow Trout Habitat (Breeding) Sites All Year Round" project received a grant of 6.6 million rubles from Priladozh'e Fish Farm LLC. The funds were used to purchase snowmobiles and a pleasure boat.
In 2024 , the "Berries of Life - ELON MARJAT" project received a grant of 5 million rubles from AgroAlliance, a agricultural consumer processing and marketing cooperative. The funds were used to purchase a modular all-season tent.
In 2025, the "Bay with a Hut and a Hunk of Cheese" project received a grant of 7.4 million rubles from individual entrepreneur Avetisyan S.A. The funds were used to purchase a geodome and a minibus.
In 2026, the Russian Ministry of Agriculture, as part of the federal project "Small Agribusiness Development," plans to introduce a new support measure in the form of a subsidy for financial support of part of the costs associated with the acquisition of property and execution of work, amounting to up to 50 percent of the costs, but no more than 5 million rubles per applicant. In the Republic of Karelia, more than 5 million rubles are planned to be allocated under this program.
Grants and subsidies help farmers develop production, enter new markets, and strengthen the regional economy.
