Tambov farmers started harvesting barley

The harvesting campaign is gaining momentum in the Tambov region. More and more farmers are bringing agricultural machinery to the fields. Agrarians of the region harvest winter wheat and peas. Farmers of the Petrovsky district have started harvesting oilseeds - rapeseed. Growers of Zherdevsky, Kirsanovsky, Sampursky districts started harvesting barley.
In the Tambov region, 218 thousand hectares of fields are sown with barley. Farmers cultivate mainly fodder varieties of crops. The grain is used for the production of fodder and mixed fodder for large and small cattle, pigs, and birds. About 20% of Tambov barley falls on brewing varieties. They are used for the production of kvass, beer.
Recall that this year, Tambov farmers will have to harvest various crops from more than 1.1 million hectares of fields.
