A Minsk resident accused his guest of theft and killed her. The Investigative Committee has revealed details of the investigation.

Investigative Committee photo, July 8, Minsk . The Central District Department of the Investigative Committee (Minsk) has established the circumstances of a woman's murder, the Investigative Committee told BELTA.

According to the investigation, on August 8, 2024 , a 56-year-old Minsk resident called an ambulance in a private home in the capital, reporting that his guest was unwell. Paramedics who responded to the call found the woman unresponsive on the floor in a room. She had multiple injuries to her face and body.

During the criminal investigation, it was discovered that the Minsk resident had met the victim several days before the tragic events. The 32-year-old woman called an acquaintance and invited them to spend the evening at his home, implying that they would drink alcohol. She then decided to stay the night.

During questioning, the Minsk resident said that he and the woman had an argument. While intoxicated, he accused his acquaintance of stealing Br400. However, she denied the accusations. This was the trigger for the aggression. Enraged, the man beat the victim on the veranda of the house. When she tried to leave, the Minsk resident dragged her by the hair into the house, where he continued to torture her. In total, the Minsk resident struck the victim at least 55 times with his hands and feet to the head and torso, and then strangled her.

The man denied his guilt in the murder, despite evidence gathered during the investigation. According to the forensic psychiatric examination, at the time of the crime, he was able to understand the significance of his actions and control them.

The Central District Department of the Investigative Committee has charged the aggressor under Part 1 of Article 154 (torture) and Part 1 of Article 139 (murder) of the Criminal Code. He has been remanded in custody.
