The head of the Chinese Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Gao Fu, said that humanity will face a new "virus X" in the future, and proposed the principle of interaction to prepare for the fight against it. He spoke about this in the framework of the Kyoto online forum "Science and Technology in Society", RIA Novosti reports.
According to him, despite the fight against the coronavirus, the world will definitely face the so-called “X virus” in the future, the characteristics of which are not yet known to anyone. It can occur anytime and anywhere, Gao Fu emphasized.
“For the future of mankind, it is necessary to work together to solve the problem. In this connection, I propose the “principle of four Cs”: cooperation (cooperation), rivalry (competition), information exchange (communication) and coordination, sometimes with a third party (coordination),” he added.
The head of the CDC also stressed that humanity today is fighting not only with the coronavirus pandemic, but also with “an infodemic, when relevant information and disinformation are intertwined.”
