The Brest Regional Executive Committee named five significant features in the life of the region in 2024 to a BELTA correspondent .
New and unique production The implementation of the "One District - One Project" program added to the sustainability of the regions' economies. Currently, there are more than 30 of them on the list of Brest Region. Some cities and districts are not limited to one project. There are four of them in Pinsk, two in the Luninets, Berezovsky, Brest, Pruzhany, Stolin districts and Brest. The implementation of five projects was completed in 2024. Berezastroymaterialy launched a new technological line for the production of large-format ceramic tiles and porcelain tiles. The production buildings of Zubr Energy in Pinsk were reconstructed, which made
it possible to establish the production of stamped plates to replace imported raw materials for domestic consumption. A new line for the production of paving slabs was installed at Luninets Spetszhelezobeton. The Lyakhovichi Flax Mill has launched the production of cottonized flax fiber. A chipboard lamination workshop has been opened at Ivatsevichdrev. The enterprise has launched the production of products that have no analogues in the republic.

A large project for processing blood plasma and producing albumin and immunoglobulin is being completed in the Gantsevichi District. A foundry will be launched in the Drogichin District. A project to increase the area of the greenhouse complex is being implemented in the Stolin District.
In general, a program for the development of industry in the Brest Region is currently being developed. It will be comprehensive. Some projects that will give a new impetus to the region's economy are already known. One of them concerns the construction of a new chipboard plant at Ivatsevichdrev, which will make it possible to increase the production of such products by more than 2.5 times. In Baranovichi, preparations are in full swing for organizing the production of refrigeration equipment. A completely new enterprise with the most advanced technologies will appear in the city. In Pinsk, capacity is being increased to expand the production of batteries and components for them.
Even more MILK for processing plants The Brest region is the flagship of the livestock industry in Belarus. The southwestern region accounts for more than 27% of all milk produced in the country. For eight years, the Brest region has been the undisputed leader in average milk yield per cow. According to the results of 2024, this figure was more than 7.7 thousand kg. In the Brest region, 13 out of 16 districts have a dairy herd productivity of over 7 thousand kg of milk, of which eight have more than 8 thousand kg, and two have more than 9 thousand kg (Brest and Ivanovo).
Systematic
workThe modernization of farms allowed 87% of the cow population to be transferred to modern conditions. During the construction of the MTC, all milking and dairy units are equipped with modern milking parlors; robotic milking systems are already being introduced in some farms. For the comfort of animals, it is planned to create an optimal microclimate, install fans, combs, and drinkers with automatic heating.
In 2023, the Brest region for the first time exceeded the milestone in gross milk production of 2 million tons. The region exceeded this result in 2024, having received more than 2.3 million tons. In terms of agricultural organizations, the increase was ensured in 153 farms out of 181 engaged in dairy cattle breeding.
A wide range of diagnostics and treatment More than 20 computed tomographs, eight magnetic resonance imaging scanners, and five angiographs operate in the Brest region. In particular, three CT rooms began operating in the region in 2024. They were opened in the Ivanovo, Ivatsevichy and Pruzhany central district hospitals. The installation of an MRI machine in Brest City Hospital No. 1 expanded the diagnostic capabilities. In addition, the fleet of healthcare institutions in the region was replenished with 31 ambulances and four mobile medical complexes.
Close attention is paid to modernization. In 2024, the Pinsk Children's Hospital, one of the buildings of the Baranovichi Children's Hospital, and the Mikashevichi Hospital were renovated. In 2025, it is planned to complete the reconstruction of the medical building of the Brest Children's Regional Hospital and the building of the David-Gorodok Hospital. For example, in the Belovezhskaya Pushcha National Park, a bicycle route called "Elensky Bor" was arranged, almost 13 km long. In the Stolin District, a bus and walking route called "Stolin over the Goryn River" was created, with a visit to the local history museum, Mankovichi Park, and the Stasino tract. In the Brest District, tourists are offered to evaluate the new water route "Kopayuvka - the best start for beginners", its length is only 3 km. The peculiarity is that Kopayuvka is the only river that naturally connects the unique Shatsky Lakes with the Baltic Sea. Guests of the Brest Region are also recommended to visit enterprises that develop industrial tourism, including the Zhabinka
SUGAR Factory.
The influx of tourists was facilitated by the opening of a direct flight Brest -
Moscow . The region is interested in regular
air service connecting Brest with St. Petersburg and the Vologda region.
