Agro-industrial complex, industry, construction sector: a cooperation agreement was signed between Belarus and the Khabarovsk Territory

May 13, Mogilev. An agreement on cooperation between the government of Belarus and the Khabarovsk Territory and an action plan for the implementation of this agreement for 2022-2024 were signed during the working visit of the Russian delegation to the Mogilev region, BelTA has learned.

The Mogilev Regional Executive Committee hosted a joint meeting of the working group on cooperation between Belarus and the Khabarovsk Territory. There were two main issues on the agenda: the results and prospects for the development of cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and the Khabarovsk Territory of the Russian Federation.

As Deputy Chairman of the Mogilev Regional Executive Committee Ruslan Strakhar noted, the dynamics of mutual trade in 2021 and January-March 2022 is positive. "In 2021, despite the difficult epidemiological situation, it was possible to ensure an increase in mutual trade by 2.1 times compared to 2020 and reach $18 million. In January-March of this year, the trade turnover of the Republic of Belarus and the Khabarovsk Territory amounted to $6.2 million and increased by 2.5 times. The main items of Belarusian exports to the Khabarovsk Territory are vehicles, machinery and equipment, food," he stressed.

The governor of the Khabarovsk Territory of RUSSIA, Mikhail Degtyarev, said after a joint meeting of the working group that the Russian region has a number of projects in which the Belarusian side will be involved. One of these will be the construction of a Belarusian-style dairy farm in the Khabarovsk Territory.

“We talked about the supply of equipment and products of machine-building plants during the meeting - we have a large demand. We already use the products of Belarusian factories in the field of public transport and business. Another landmark project is the construction of a dairy farm. We plan to involve Belarusian builders in this work, technologists in the field of agriculture. We have investors, a place, a plan. We are now carrying out import substitution not even in the technological chains of products, but in the heads of our entrepreneurs. Many projects were made up for Western, European, American and Canadian technologies. This is wrong, and itself history tells us today that we need to unite. We orient our entrepreneurs to the Belarusian experience. For our part, we will help with financing and land. We have a big request for MILK and MEAT,Therefore, we will implement this project in the near future," he said.

The products of Mogilev enterprises and organizations aroused interest among Russian guests. According to the governor of the Khabarovsk Territory, special attention is given to meat and dairy products. "We visited a meat processing plant in Mogilev, looked at the products of dairy enterprises. All this can already be seen on the shelves of our Khabarovsk stores, but often there were no contracts for direct deliveries. That is why we brought entrepreneurs who control 80% of the retail market in our region to establish direct communication," he said.

Another important aspect of cooperation between Belarus and the Khabarovsk Territory is the creation of joint ventures. "Yesterday President of Belarus ALEXANDER LUKASHENKOsaid it's time for . The same task was set by our President Vladimir Putin. These will be new enterprises and productions. First of all - the transport and logistics complex. The next project is the assembly and service of products of machine-building plants in Belarus. We are ready to provide sites free of charge in the priority development area, where everyone is exempt from taxes for 5 years. For the assembly of trucks, passenger trolleybuses and buses, agricultural and woodworking machinery. There are labor resources, there is gas and electricity, there is land. Belarus needs to be closer to Eastern markets. The instruction of the President of Belarus directly concerns the Khabarovsk Territory," said Mikhail Degtyarev.

According to Anatoly Isachenko, Chairman of the Mogilev Oblast Executive Committee, the current situation in the world with sanctions pressure on Russia and Belarus has given impetus to the establishment of stronger ties.

Trade turnover will increase significantly, there is a positive trend. Entrepreneurial people, industry and business need to make contracts. And as the President of our country rightly noted yesterday, it is necessary to create joint ventures, there must be cooperation and integration."
