RUSSIA will continue to work on opening the Chinese market for domestic pork suppliers. This was announced to journalists by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Victoria Abramchenko following the report of the Russian government in the State Duma.
"Of course, we dream of supplying pork. We are holding these negotiations and we will continue. Our pork producers from regions where the African swine fever situation is safe insist that we can bring missions, show them to the relevant regulatory authorities of friendly states and convince our partners that these enterprises specifically, and these regions specifically, are free from the African plague, and there are no problems with the supply of these MEAT products. These are promising areas. We will now deal with this in the light of the trade intensification of Russian-Chinese relations," she said.
Abramchenko noted that Russia is in the top 3 suppliers of poultry meat to CHINA, increasing supplies by 10% in 2022. As for beef, according to her, last year's supplies were at the level of 2021, in the amount of about 21 thousand tons.
She recalled that earlier Russian President Vladimir Putin set the goal of reaching $50 billion in agricultural exports from Russia. "We are striving for this bar. When will it be reached? When will we switch to trading in high-margin products, that is, when the range of agricultural products will expand, and we believe in this," the Deputy Prime Minister concluded.
According to the Federal Customs Service, the volume of exports of food products and agricultural raw materials (except textiles) from Russia in 2022 increased by 14.8% compared to 2021 and amounted to $41.3 billion.
