Strengthening public security and discipline discussed in the Minsk City Executive Committee

December 22, MINSK. Fulfillment of the requirements of the Directive of the President No. 1 dated March 11, 2004 was discussed today at a meeting of the Minsk City Executive Committee. Chairman of the Council of the Republic Natalia Kochanova took part in the meeting, BelTA has learned.

“As for the results that we discussed today at a meeting of the Minsk City Executive Committee, in certain areas we see that it is necessary to take more stringent measures, starting from how work on labor protection is built at individual enterprises. And here, first of all, an assessment should be given to the manager, so that the employees of the enterprise work in proper conditions, - said the deputy chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee Artem Tsuran. - As for the issues of ALCOHOL consumption, unfortunately, we see an increase in the number of fires with people who are in a state of alcoholic intoxication. Here, first of all, of course, strict preventive measures are needed. Separately, it should be said about people who abuse alcohol for a long time. Yes, we send such citizens to medical and labor dispensaries. But, as practice shows, upon their return from such institutions, work with them must be continued. And in this case, these persons should in no case be overlooked by the supervisory authorities, doctors.

Issues of prevention of offenses and crimes were presented in a separate block. "Here we note a certain positive trend and the active participation of citizens in this work. We have more than 2.5 thousand people involved in voluntary people's squads, which, together with the police, carry out raids and suppress cases of crimes, offenses, as well as drinking alcohol in unidentified more than 600 such cases were identified with the direct participation of combatants," the deputy chairman noted.

"The issue of implementing Directive No. 1 is on the agenda and in no case is it written off by the local authorities. This is the basis on which we have organized a lot of preventive processes and ensure the life of our citizens," added Artem Tsuran.
