
June 21, MINSK. Lithuania has banned the transportation of Russian goods from the sanctions list to Kaliningrad not only by rail, but also by freight transport, reports .
The government of the Kaliningrad region reported that due to the current situation, the same scheme will be applied to freight transportation as to rail transportation. Trucks will transport those goods that are not included in the sanctions list, the rest of the goods will be delivered to the Kaliningrad region by ferry, bypassing Lithuania.Vilnius informed Moscow over the weekend that a number of Russian goods subject to sanctions would be banned from transit through Lithuania. In particular, we are talking about fertilizers, various building materials, alcoholic beverages, caviar and other goods.
The regional authorities have already reported that the logistics issue will be resolved. Residents were urged not to be afraid of a shortage of goods and not to stock up for future use.
In Moscow, such a decision of the Lithuanian authorities was called illegal and promised to take appropriate measures.
