In this video, we will show sheep of different breeds that were presented at the International Livestock Exhibition Lepsi-2023.
The main breeds that were at the exhibition: edilbaevskaya, akkarabas, zwartbles, suffolk, dorper, texel, as well as various crosses of these breeds. I would like to note that the Alakol Agro enterprise conducts serious selection work on a large livestock, so that in the future it will be possible not only to sell lamb itself, but also to recommend to farmers one or another breed or cross that is most suitable for certain natural and climatic conditions.
Akkarabas (white, black-headed) is a line of the Edilbaev breed, the main task, in addition to MEAT, is to obtain good quality wool, white, which may be in demand.
The main purpose of crossing the Kazakh fine-wool breed and texel is to obtain an obmuscular carcass and, accordingly, the sale of lamb. This cross is distinguished by high quality meat and at the same time has good precocity.
Also at the exhibition there were rams of one of the flagships of sheep breeding in Kazakhstan - the Birlik farm. This farm is working on three factory lines: 2840 - red color, 5939 - black color, 8035 - brown color. These lines differ not only in color, but also in other qualities (precocity, weight gain, etc.). The total livestock in the Birlik farm is about 10 thousand individuals.
Another famous farm - Kurmangazy also presented their rams to the Lepsi-2023 exhibition. This time there were 5 heads of two-year-olds and 5 heads of three-year-olds. The main difference is the raised tail and the suit of gray. The total number of sheep in the farm is about 6 thousand heads.
