
Russian President Vladimir Putin and President of the European Council Charles Michel discussed in a telephone conversation the situation with sanctions pressure on Belarus, as well as the prospect of certification of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine in the European Union, the Kremlin press service reported.
“In connection with the additional sanctions measures taken by the European Union on Belarus, Vladimir Putin emphasized the counterproductiveness of this approach, as well as, in general, any attempts to interfere in the internal affairs of this sovereign state,” the message says.
The President of RUSSIA touched upon the issues of certification in the EU of the Russian drug Sputnik V and ensuring the necessary conditions for mutual trips of citizens, subject to anti-epidemic restrictions.
it is noted that Putin and Michel during the conversation discussed in detail the issues of relations between Russia and the European Union, as well as a number of international problems. So, in addition to Belarus, the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh and the Ukrainian crisis were discussed.
Putin also stressed that Russia and the European Union remain significant partners for each other in the field of trade and investment, but the current state of their relations cannot be considered satisfactory.
