Slow vaccination rate and invisible complications from COVID-19

Collective immunity from covid-19 in the Kaliningrad region due to vaccination has reached 15%. These paces leave a lot to be desired. Every week, instead of today's 800-1500 people, it is necessary to vaccinate 5-7 thousand inhabitants of the region. This was announced on May 26 by the HEAD of the regional department of Rospotrebnadzor, Elena Babur, on the radio "Komsomolskaya Pravda - Kaliningrad".

She also explained how often and why people get CORONAVIRUS after being vaccinated. And Olga Purynzina, head of the medical care organization department, spoke about the serious but invisible consequences of the coronavirus.

The incidence rate in the region

From 50 to 65 cases of coronavirus infection are registered daily in the region. The daily indicator slightly exceeds the all-Russian level: the region is in 20th place among the constituent entities of the Russian Federation and in the top three subjects in the Northwestern Federal District. The propagation coefficient is equal to one.

“Under these conditions, it is necessary to continue a set of preventive and anti-epidemiological measures. Yesterday, the department of Rospotrebnadzor submitted proposals to the government of the Kaliningrad region to ban all public events without exception for two weeks. Thus, it will be possible to achieve stabilization of the disease indicators with a trend towards a decrease and improvement of the epidemiological situation,” Elena Babur said.
