Oxygen cylinder exploded in infectious diseases hospital in Murmansk

An oxygen cylinder failed in the infectious diseases department of the Murmansk Regional Clinical Hospital named after I.I. P.A. Bayandin, according to the message of the regional Ministry of HEALTH on the website of the government.

According to the agency, at 19:45 Moscow time, a reducer (a device for maintaining gas pressure) was torn off near the cylinder and compressed oxygen was released. The process was accompanied by "cotton" without fire, the ministry noted.

No one was hurt, an investigation is underway.

Earlier, an Interfax source in the emergency services said that the explosion of the cylinder occurred on the third floor of the hospital department. The Ministry of Emergency Situations told the agency that the volume of the balloon from the department where patients with CORONAVIRUS are treated was 2 liters.
