Over 3,000 drunk drivers detained in Minsk region in 11 months

December 28, Minsk. On the territory of the Minsk region for 11 months, road guards detained 3091 drivers in a state of intoxication. BelTA was informed about this by the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Minsk Oblast Executive Committee.

"Alcohol and the road are not compatible!" - under this motto there will be a single road safety day on December 30th. Driving a vehicle while intoxicated, under the influence of narcotic drugs and psychotropic or toxic substances is the most gross and dangerous violation of traffic rules, which inevitably leads to an accident. A car is a source of increased danger, and in the hands of a drunk - a weapon that cripple human lives, not only the driver himself, but also the people around him.

The severity of the consequences of traffic accidents committed by flagrant offenders is significantly higher compared to other accidents. One and a half times more deaths and severe injuries among the victims.

"If you see or know that a driver in a state of intoxication is driving a vehicle, or you see drunk pedestrians on the roadway or near it, clearly creating a threat to road safety by their actions, immediately inform the police on duty by calling 229-04-44 or 102 (free call). Perhaps your information will save the life of one person and will not allow breaking the fate of another," the law enforcement officers added.
