A sugar packaging workshop was opened in the Penza region

At the Zemetchinsky SUGAR Plant (part of Prodimex Group of Companies) in the Penza Region, a workshop was opened that will package sugar for retail chains in packages of 1 and 5 kg. The daily packaging capacity for 1 kg is 200 tons, for 5 kg - about 50 tons. Thus, the enterprise will annually produce 85 thousand tons of sugar in retail packaging.
The solemn event dedicated to the opening of the packing shop was attended by Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Agriculture of the Penza Region Roman Kalentiev, Executive DIRECTOR of JSC "Zemetchinsky Sugar Plant" Igor Mishunin, as well as the company's management.
The project began a year ago, and in the current environment, when demand for sugar is high, Prodimex has accelerated its completion. Investments in the project amounted to 240 million rubles. The opening of the shop allowed to create additional 57 jobs in the region.
The new workshop will package white sugar of TS2 and Extra categories. The company has installed domestic equipment, part of the lines of Italian production. Shipment of products will be carried out by road and rail. The introduction of packaging capacities will significantly expand the supply of retail chains, shops and end consumers with sugar in the packaging most in demand by the buyer.

The opening of the packaging line will reduce the time of delivery of sugar from the factory to the counter, eliminate unnecessary supply chains, and reduce logistics costs. The turnover for enterprises increases, and consumers have the opportunity to receive a cheaper product. Such equipment allows expanding the supply of sugar to retail chains.
In addition, an important task is being solved - this is providing the Penza Region and the Volga Federal District with a socially significant product in a small package convenient for the consumer,” said Roman Kalentiev, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Agriculture of the Penza Region.
