Why the President's trip to Belovezhsky is significant

After the recent Minister of Agriculture for the post of Assistant to the President - Inspector for the Vitebsk region, Alexander Lukashenko made a trip to the OJSC "Belovezhsky". This is a large and successful farm in the Brest region, one of the country's leaders in agricultural production.

"Thank you very much for your work. In general, our peasants are strong people. I praise you not because I myself am a peasant. You are strong people, the country rests on you." This was stated by President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko at a meeting with residents of the agricultural town of Belovezhsky in the Kamenetsky district.

At a recent conference call on the issues of the harvesting campaign, the head of state demanded to establish an iron order in the agricultural organizations in terms of personnel.

The example of the agricultural town of Belovezhsky is very significant. The fate of the JSC of the same name and its people is woven into the fate of the entire industry and the country.

Thirty-year-old Yuri Dmitrievich Moroz could not be lured from Orsha to Belovezhsky. Higher forces from the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Belarus were connected and an exchange took place: 20 combine harvesters left for the Vitebsk region, Yuri Moroz went to the Kamenetsky district to build the largest state farm-combine! We had to build from scratch!

We built housing and social facilities, brought a giant pig-breeding complex to its design capacity. They survived the collapse of the USSR, set up processing in difficult conditions.

Already under President Alexander Lukashenko, he was noticed and invited in 1996 to the post of chairman of the committee on agriculture and food of the Brest regional executive committee. There, Yuriy Moroz achieved such significant success that he became First Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food. And then a minister.

A high assessment, but the Belovezhsky state farm-combine among the leaders fell into disrepair - with "remote" attention.

Yury Moroz was already in a good position in the Minsk Bank, but he could not calmly look at the devastation in his native economy and returned. For 15 years, his second triumphal coming to the director's chair of JSC "Belovezhsky" after the ministerial one continued.

Candidate of Economic Sciences, author of dozens of scientific papers Yuri Moroz showed in practice how personnel can successfully solve serious problems. The economy has grown so much and added in production that it has become an agricultural giant.

He drew conclusions and clearly began to educate in practice and select personnel. The current, since 2017, director of JSC "Belovezhsky" Alexander Dunkovich, came from the BGATU to the farm in 2006 with a diploma in electrical engineering and went through all the career steps. Under him, the agricultural holding is successfully developing, and the mentor Yuriy Moroz is nearby.

It is significant that the marketability of milk with such an increase in production has been preserved and amounts to 91%.

Pork production (the original basis of the agricultural holding's products) also increased - from 21 thousand tons (2017) to 23.8 thousand tons (2022).

For many years now, other, weaker, farms have been joining Belovezhsky OJSC, one of the latest acquisitions is the Fatherland branch.

Of course, the newly attached farms are somewhat dragging down the indicators, but they are not discouraged here. General Director Alexander Dunkovich, who went through school at JSC Belovezhsky, keeps a high standard. He also has experience of working at the Karolin dairy complex of the agricultural holding. This ITC is technically unrivaled in the CIS.

It is always important for the president to hear the opinion of many people. Especially such successful ones who have gone through a harsh practical school.

At a conference call, the Belarusian leader: "Well, if there is a return, then all right, we will lend. But if there is no return, what kind of talk can there be? There can be no talk."

It was especially important to see how the entire production chain of the enterprise functions. Processing and especially marketing. JSC "Belovezhsky" has a very diverse list of products: Florentine pancetta, marble roll with herbs, home-style cheek, Austrian sausages , Belovezhsky carbonade and much more - more than one and a half hundred items.

The sales network of OJSC "Belovezhsky" is growing, they even opened a store in Ivanovo, the main city of the region, famous for its "Motalskіmi prysmaki".

"Expansion" continues not only in the regions of Belarus. If earlier they expanded sales to Russia, now China is in the queue .

By the way, since 2015, the export of finished food products from the Brest region to China has grown more than tenfold. In general, food exports of the region in 2022 amounted to almost a third of the exports of the entire country.

“And I don’t regret at all that at one time we adopted programs for the revival of the village and invested enough money in agriculture . Today we feel the return: we not only fed our people, but also decently sold food products last year,” stressed The president.

Therefore, seeing a vivid example of a competent personnel policy, a scientific, prudent and practical approach, it was worth visiting Belovezhsky OJSC, especially before the appointment of a new minister of agriculture and food, during the season. But, mind you, the system works well even without the minister, there is an element of reliability.

During a trip to Belovezhsky, Alexander Lukashenko gave the most important instruction regarding the replacement of imported varieties with domestic ones. He focused on this issue when examining the rapeseed field. "The number one task is to have it with us," the President stressed. Provision of own seeds is not only import substitution, but also a matter of food security.

This applies not only to rapeseed seeds, but also to other popular crops. For example, potatoes, our second bread and a national brand. Western breeders have long used elements of programming many types of seeds for a significant decrease in yield and degeneration of varieties in two or three years. To control the market.

The task of the President to replace imported varieties with domestic ones is a question for big science and production workers. As always, from life to a strategic perspective.
