Spring field work in the country is in full swing. Agrarians of Kruglyansky Rassvet OJSC say that we should be rich not only with bread on the tables, but also with food in the bins. The farm allocated more than 650 hectares for corn for silage, of which 100 hectares have already been sown with grain. How the work is progressing and why it is so important to approach the formation of the future harvest with soul and knowledge - in the report of a BelTA correspondent.

This year, the late spring made adjustments to the work of the agro-industrial complex: the sowing campaign in the Kruglyansky district began a little later than usual, but all farms picked up the right pace. The workers of "Kruglyansky Dawn" are sure: not a minute should be lost, not a single piece of land should be left without attention.

For the machine operator Petr Rulyakov, the sowing campaign is a well-known business. “I have been working in this farm for more than 16 years. For us, every centimeter of land is important. Thanks to this land, we can earn money , grow bread, and provide livestock with feed. we will be left not only without bread, but also MILK and MEAT. Everything is tied up here, and therefore such a scenario cannot be allowed," he shared. " Work in the field is not easy, and it does not know seasonality. In winter, you work on equipment, put it in order. I help feed the cattle, I work as a substitute, as soon as the weather comes, we have hot days."

Work starts at 6 am. Working day - 12 hours. “Before going out into the field, it’s maintenance of the tractor, you need to check and see everything. Then I went into the field and went. The farm provides us with hot lunches and dinners, they bring everything right to the tractor. The food is delicious,” says the man. “Now I’m in this field I sow corn for silage. All the work of farmers is responsible, it is impossible to single out something more important here. Well-fed cattle, bread on people's tables are the main tasks of our work in the fields."

The chief agronomist Sergei Ostrovsky is closely following the course of spring field work at Kruglyansky Rassvet. Arable land on the farm is more than 3.6 thousand hectares. This year, they included 300 hectares that have changed their purpose: earlier grass was sown here, and now these lands have been transferred to arable land, and abandoned areas have been plowed up and bushes removed. Technique, he says, is enough, people in the economy are ready to work and achieve high results. “The work is going on actively. Moisture leaves the soil quickly, if we don’t sow in the optimally short time, we won’t get the result, and we can’t allow such a situation,” he says. “The economy depends on our workeconomy. If we did not apply the necessary fertilizers in the process, did not comply with any of the technological requirements, and subsequently did not sow crops in the optimally short time frame, all the costs incurred by the farm will be wasted. We need a reliable result. And we are doing everything to ensure that the sowing campaign is held at a high level, competently and on time."

The tasks facing farmers are indeed serious. The formation of a high-quality and sufficient forage base is one of them. Only in the farm the number of cattle is more than 4 thousand, of which almost 1.3 thousand are dairy herds. "And everyone needs quality feed in sufficient quantities," the chief agronomist emphasized.

As Deputy HEAD of the Department for Agriculture and Food of the Kruglyansky District Executive Committee Yuri Yevseev noted, everyone approaches the work responsibly and with the awareness that not only the result of a particular farm, but also the entire district, as well as the region depends on it. “Now the main focus is on corn: we must complete this work by May 20, so that later we can start forage harvesting together,” he said. “All farms are provided with seed material, fertilizers are also available, equipment, people - everyone is ready to meet the deadline.”

Go in the area and work on sowing annual and perennial grasses. Now here, as well as throughout the region, the area under the coverless method of sowing grasses has been expanded. “We will continue this work. So we sow alfalfa and clover,” said Yuri Evseev. “This method of sowing is more effective because these grasses will be harvested this year. such herbs only next year."

Perennial and annual grasses, corn for silage are an indispensable food base, as well as protein supplements for feed. The number of cattle in the region is more than 23 thousand, of which 7.6 thousand are dairy herds. "This year we need to prepare 24 feed units per conventional head. This is about 7,000 tons of hay, 80,000 tons of haylage and 82,000 tons of silage," he stressed.

Farmers are sure that work in the fields is the basis of food security, as well as an opportunity to profit from exports in the future.
