At the end of 2021, Molodovo-Agro Unitary Enterprise of the Ivanovsky District was the first in the country to achieve a dairy herd productivity of 12,000 kilograms. The next record for the workers of the well-known economy in the country was conquered on December 23, and for the remaining week they added another 368 kilograms, becoming the absolute leaders across the republic for the second consecutive season.
“The result of the year before last was surpassed by more than half a ton,” compares important figures for the dairy industry, Olga Kipen, chief economist. - In December, the average daily productivity of each cow reached 35.6 kilograms (growth - 3.8 kilograms by 2020). They continued to add in January. These days, we MILK an average of 36.9 kilograms from a cow. We send the product for processing only in the extra grade.
Molodovtsy have every chance to improve their record. The necessary base has been created. Firstly, a scientific basis has been laid for all technological processes, selection work on the reproduction of the herd has been clearly debugged. Secondly, the diet of each animal is strictly defined, in which, if necessary, adjustments are made. This winter surprises as never before with temperature changes: sharp cold snaps alternate with thaws. In such conditions, it is very difficult to achieve consistently high milk yields, but the specialists of Molodovo-Agro succeed in this to the fullest extent. The productivity of the dairy herd every day is approximately at the same level and significantly exceeds last year. An average of 32.3 tons of milk is sent for processing per day.
The Molodovo dairy farm, where more than 950 cows are kept, is headed by Viktor Tochkar. Machine milking operators are Vasilina Kipen, Valentina Spodareva, Ekaterina Stukalo, Elena Rupenko, Irina Yurko, Valentina Mokich, Ludmila Zdrok, Tatiana Kuchinskaya and Tatiana Romanovich. Specialists of the veterinary service diligently and professionally perform their work, livestock breeders involved in fattening make sure that cows are full. In general, everything is in its place.
The deputy DIRECTOR of the farm, Lyudmila Melnik, states that it is easier to prevent a decrease in milk yield in winter than in summer heat:
- In 2021, the air temperature in our region reached 42 degrees. Saved irrigation installations, although their capacity is no longer enough. One of the cowsheds, where the most high-yielding cows stand, was equipped with the Italian Large Drop system, which is effective in such anomalies. This year we will install this equipment in two more rooms.
Molodovo-Agro is very scrupulous about the technological process of producing large milk. Farm specialists note that everything starts with the maternity ward. A high-yielding cow can only be raised from a healthy calf. Babies up to a hundred days are fed exclusively with natural milk, without using any mixtures. They practice the so-called cold method of growing - in comfortable houses equipped with milk-feeding sensors. Then the calves are transferred to group sections under a canopy. From the first days of life, they receive a balanced diet, the necessary hardening.
Being a breeding enterprise for breeding dairy and beef cattle of the Aberdeen-Angus breed, Molodovo-Agro does not cease to improve technologies adopted both abroad and in domestic animal husbandry. Some things are polished, adapting to their conditions. To minimize mastitis, diseases of the hooves, the farm cleans, bleaches and disinfects the livestock quarters twice a season. With the advent of constant heat, the straw bedding is changed to sand, in the fall they switch back to straw. There are dozens of nuances, and each must be taken into account in order to achieve the goal.
Feed of impeccable quality - a one and a half year supply. They grow sylphium perforated, containing up to 20 percent of protein per kilogram of dry matter, legumes, and for more than 15 years they have been using flattened corn for feeding. Feed additives are selected taking into account the genetic potential of animals. Purchased concentrates have been abandoned, compound feeds are produced at their own facilities with the addition of premixes.
Applying any innovation, the return is calculated in advance. This principle is always guided by the director of the agricultural enterprise Stepan Khalko. This rule works flawlessly across the entire economy. It is hard to believe that in 1999, when Stepan Petrovich headed the team, less than 3 tons of milk was milked from a cow. Having restructured the system of livestock breeding, relying not only on discipline, responsibility of personnel for results, but also on stimulating labor, already eight years later, in terms of the productivity of the dairy herd, the Molodovites became the leaders in the district with a result of 7628 kilograms. Soon they became the first in the Brest region, in 2017 - the best in the country. Since then, we have repeated this achievement several times, while maintaining a high return on the industry. Last season, the profitability of milk for nine months exceeded 60 percent. At the end of the year (no data yet), it is expected to be slightly lower, because the cost of production has increased slightly - prices are not standing still. So, we need to look for new reserves to reduce costs.
Many Ivanovo agricultural enterprises are included in the regional elite of the dairy industry. The second place after Molodovo-Agro in terms of dairy herd productivity is occupied by Snitovo-Agro OJSC, where last year an average of 9,594 kilograms of milk was milked from each cow - plus 244 kilograms compared to the previous season. Gross production of the main revenue-generating product increased by 2.6 percent, bringing it to 12,588 tons.
In Dostoevo, Ivanovo, the productivity of cows for 2021 increased to 8464 kilograms (plus 294). Grossly, they added 6.7 percent. On the heels of this agricultural enterprise are JSC Agro-Motol with a result of 8439 kilograms, UE Lyakhovichskoe-Agro (8154) and JSC Opol-Agro (8082). The livestock breeders of the Psyshchevo-Agro, Gorbakha and other farms have approached the 8,000 mark. First Deputy Chairman of the Ivanovo District Executive Committee, HEAD of the Rayselhozprod Viktor Bezsilko believes that while maintaining the momentum gained, this height will be submitted to them:
- The past season for the region's animal husbandry was very good in terms of economic indicators. Gross milk production increased by 5.9 percent, bringing it to almost 135,000 tons. Milk yield from a cow - 8036 kilograms (plus 414 to the year before last). The economy has invested heavily in the modernization of complexes and farms. And the return was not long in coming: the productivity of the dairy herd is at the level of 23.1 kilograms (more than 1.3 kilograms were added by January 2021).
Ivanovskiy district takes the leading position in the region in terms of efficiency of the dairy industry. The others don't relax either. First Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Agriculture and Food of the Brest Regional Executive Committee Sergei Butkevich notes:
- The Brest region is getting closer to its strategic goal - to reach the 300,000th number of cows, to milk 7,000 kilograms of milk from each cow and to bring its production to 2 million tons per year. The region overcame the milestone of 1.9 million tons in 2021, adding 2.5 percent in total. It is also possible - at the expense of farms, the results of which are below the average regional level. There is quite a large reserve here.
