In February-March, pork on the bone went up from 270.98 to 276.26 rubles per kilogram (+1.9%). In the first quarter of 2021, this type of MEAT rose in price by approximately the same amount (+2%). Since March last year, the price of pork has increased by 6.4%.
Over the past two years, the average consumer price of pork on the Russian market fell to a minimum (255.82 rubles per kilogram) in February 2020. In March of this year, it rose to a maximum level, exceeding the minimum value by 20.44 rubles.
In March 2021, the most expensive pork was traditionally sold in the Far Eastern Federal District of RUSSIA, where a kilogram of this type of meat cost the end consumer 324.64 rubles. In the same period, the lowest average price in the Volga Federal District was 255.66 rubles per kilogram.
Pork consumption in the country is constantly growing, and, according to the forecast of the Center for Industry Expertise of the Russian Agricultural Bank, it will increase by another 3% by the end of the year.
