New vaccine against classical swine fever developed at FGBI "ARRIAH"

The vaccine is intended for the specific prevention of classical swine fever (CSF) in endangered and disadvantaged farms. Immunity in animals is formed already 14 days after the first injection of the vaccine.

Scientists warn that CSF can have different clinical forms: from acute with 100% mortality to chronic. On the territory of RUSSIA, animals have an atypical form of the course of the disease, in which transplacental transmission of the virus to offspring occurs. Pigs have no clinical signs of the disease, low titers of specific antibodies, but there is an active release of the virus into the environment.

Pig breeding in Russia is developing rapidly, demonstrating an annual increase in production volumes. Therefore, without specific prevention, which includes vaccination against CSF, it is impossible to imagine safe pork production in the Russian Federation, experts say.
