November 3, MINSK. The Moscow (Minsk) regional department of the Investigative Committee is investigating a criminal case on particularly malicious hooliganism. BelTA was informed about this by Ekaterina Garlinskaya, official representative of USC in Minsk.

"According to the materials of the criminal case on the evening of October 17 this year, a 42-year-old man and a 51-year-old woman sought medical help. According to them, in the premises of one of the stores located on the territory of the Moskovsky district, an unknown person sprayed them in the face for no reason with a jet from a gas canister , after which he disappeared," the USC said.

Thanks to the coordinated work of investigators and employees of the criminal investigation department, the suspect was identified and detained. it turned out to be an 18-year-old unemployed Minsker. The guy has a secondary specialized education, previously brought to administrative responsibility for drinking alcoholic beverages in a public place. During a search at the place of residence of the suspect, various symbols were found, including those of an extremist orientation.

Investigators interrogated the accused, the victims and witnesses, appointed a number of expert studies, the production of which was entrusted to the specialists of the State Committee for Combating and Establishment.

The actions of the Minsk resident were qualified by the investigation under Part 3 of Art. 339 (especially malicious hooliganism) of the Criminal Code. A measure of restraint in the form of detention was applied to him.

The criminal investigation is ongoing.
