January 24, Moscow. The Eurasian Intergovernmental Council will consider the implementation of the agreement on navigational seals in the Eurasian Economic Union. This was announced today at a briefing by the official representative of the Eurasian Economic Commission, BelTA has learned.

"The Council of the Commission instructed to submit to the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council the issue of implementing the agreement on the use of navigation seals in the EAEU to track transportation. The Commission continues to work actively in this direction," said Iya Malkina.

She recalled: in order to develop the customs transit system in the EAEU, which is provided for by the strategic directions for the development of Eurasian economic integration until 2025, on December 10, 2021, at a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, the heads of the EAEU states decided to sign an agreement on the use of navigation seals in the Union, as well as an agreement on the specifics of applying security for the fulfillment of the obligation to pay customs duties, taxes, special, anti-dumping, countervailing duties during the transportation (transportation) of goods in accordance with the customs procedure for customs transit.

"The agreement on navigational seals provides for the tracking by means of electronic navigational seals of goods transported both within the framework of customs transit and a number of goods in mutual trade. We are talking about sanctioned goods, ALCOHOL, tobacco," the EEC representative noted. - Application of the agreement on navigational seals will allow minimizing control measures at the internal borders of the union and increasing the transit attractiveness of the member states of the union, ensuring the traceability of goods and their legal circulation on the territory of the union".

Iya Malkina said that in order to implement the agreement on navigation seals, an action plan has been prepared for the implementation of a transportation tracking mechanism in the EAEU, which provides for a whole range of measures. The plan is supposed to be approved by the order of the EEC Council.

"The timing of the launch of the tracking system and the dynamics of further work on the development of the transit system depend on the timing of ratification in the Member States of the agreement on navigation seals and the agreement on guarantee mechanisms, as well as on the implementation of the planned activities by the Member States and the Commission," the EEC representative emphasized.
