TV3 reported on the transportation of Russian fuel through Riga to Ukraine

Since the beginning of the year, three tankers with fuel have entered the port of Riga from St. Petersburg, from where Ukrainian fuel trucks took it, Latvian journalists reported. It is forbidden to import Russian fuel to Ukraine,

For several months now, Russian fuel has been flowing through Latvia to Ukraine under forged documents, according to the Nekā personīga (Nothing Personal) program on TV3.

According to journalists, at the beginning of the year, three tankers with fuel entered the port of Riga from St. Petersburg, the total value of the cargo exceeds €100 million. Among them were the NS Point and NS Pride vessels of Sovcomflot, they delivered fuel to the warehouses of PARS Termināls . In January and February, journalists noticed several dozen fuel trucks from Ukraine near the warehouses. On April 4, trucks with Ukrainian numbers were also waiting on the territory of the terminal and next to it.

The publication recalls that until February 5, the day the embargo on Russian oil products came into force, the import of fuel from RUSSIA was not considered a violation of EU sanctions . This was also stated in the Latvian Foreign Ministry, noting that diesel fuel imported before the specified date can be sold. At the same time, Russian fuel has not been imported to Ukraine for more than a year, the ministry said.

PARS Termināls told the publication that the fuel is Kazakh, the cargo is declared and all the necessary documents and certificates are available.

The same was reported to journalists by Orlen Lietuva, on whose behalf the certificate was issued. The organization turned to the customs department, where it turned out that similar documents had been used earlier, in January, and the papers were fake.

The authors of the Nekā personīga program reported about such transfers back in February, but the Latvian Tax and Customs Police Department did not open a criminal case. The prosecutor's office decided that the decision was made prematurely, and sent the materials for a new consideration. Now they are at the stage of departmental expertise in the customs police.
