Earlier, US Deputy Treasury Secretary Wally Adeyemo said that Washington's next goal is sanctions against the Russian military-industrial complex (DIC) and its supply chains.

The United States and other Western countries began to impose sanctions against Russia after Moscow announced the recognition of the DPR and LPR, and then the start of a military operation in Ukraine, the purpose of which was called denazification and demilitarization.

The restrictions also affected the main Russian banks - Sberbank, VTB, VEB, Otkritie, Rossiya and others, several state corporations, part of the international reserves of the Central Bank, as well as businessmen, officials, journalists and representatives of the Russian leadership, in particular President Vladimir Putin and Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu.

Putin considers sanctions against Russia illegitimate. “Sanctions will be imposed in any case. There is some reason today, connected there with the events in Ukraine, or there is no such reason, it will be found, because the goal is different. The goal in this case is to slow down the development of Russia,” he said in February, before the start of the special operation. He called sanctions pressure violating the principles of international law.
