On December 21, an expanded collegium of the Ministry of Defense was held with the participation of Vladimir Putin. The head of the department, Sergei Shoigu, voiced proposals for modernizing the army, including changing the age corridor for conscription, creating two new military districts and increasing the number of military personnel.
