The World Bank promised to provide Ukraine with a loan of $700 million

The World Bank will provide Ukraine with a loan of almost $500 million, and preparations have also begun for issuing an additional $200 million, according to the press service of the bank, following a conversation between World Bank Group President David Malpass and Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky.

On March 4, the World Bank presented to the Board of Directors an additional loan for Ukraine called "Financing Ukraine's Post-Economic Disaster Recovery". According to the bank's press service, the loan increased to almost $500 million "due to guarantees from bilateral partners, including the Netherlands and Sweden."

"President Malpass also noted that the World Bank is working on preparing new projects and restructuring existing ones to provide an additional $200 million in rapid assistance by the end of March," the statement said.

Since February 24, RUSSIA has been conducting a military operation in Ukraine. The Russian authorities argue that this is necessary for the "demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine."
