The doctor called the number of children born with COVID-19 in the Novosibirsk region

This year, 30 newborns with a confirmed diagnosis of CORONAVIRUS infection have been registered in the Novosibirsk Region. This was reported by the portal "NGS" with reference to the chief physician of the Children's City Clinical Hospital No. 3 Tatyana Komissarova.

“Now there are 25 such children in the clinic, with a confirmed diagnosis — 6. In total, in 2021, we treated 155 newborn children, with a confirmed diagnosis — 30 children,” Komissarova said.

She added that there was no direct evidence of vertical transmission of the virus. Now children of different ages are sick with coronavirus - from zero to 18 years. Newborn children who were born from women with covid-19 are transferred from all over the region to Children's Hospital No. 3 in the first hours of life.

According to the operational headquarters, on the morning of July 20, 3.5 thousand cases of coronavirus in children were registered in the region. 74 children were hospitalized in infectious diseases hospitals of the region with a diagnosis of COVID-19 and suspected of it.
